Linda is warm, caring, and hopeful about building a future with Joseph after his release from prison. Having known him since they were young, Linda reconnects with him while he is incarcerated, and the two marry before starting a family together. For a time, she appears to provide the stability Joseph needs to stay out of trouble. As the relationship progresses, however, Linda witnesses his increasingly volatile behavior, ultimately fearing for her own safety and the safety of their son.
