Her confidence often comes across as diva behavior, creating friction within the band, but beneath the attitude is a teenager who genuinely wants to create something extraordinary. Backstory: Ava has been performing since she was five years old, winning local talent competitions and becoming one of Cedar Performing Arts Center's brightest stars. Constant praise for her voice has led her to believe that being the best is the only thing that matters. She dreams of becoming a famous recording artist, but throughout the story she discovers that great musicians don't just perform well, they inspire and lift up the people around them. Saving Cedar becomes the first time she learns to put the success of the group ahead of her own spotlight.
