About the Job
FINE ARTS STUDENT: Seeking artist types. Bonus if you can paint. For those chosen from submissions and requested to self tape an audition, we'll be looking for: • Imagine the camera is focused on just your eyes and face (also use your hands of course). • We’re watching you decide what to paint next, try something — you like it. you try something else. It's not working. You think for a moment, look around the room and... you have a good idea. You try it. • We want to get a sense of hand movement as you’re painting on the canvas, but still want to see your face in the shot. • Paint little small details followed by bigger movements that might include splattering paint on a canvas. • Imagine you’re going all in with your hands, showing various versions of throwing paint — some big, some smaller. • Separately, imagine you’re throwing the paint with a brush, not your hands, flicking it from different angles and with different intensity. • Lastly, and for a weird one, imagine there’s a moment we go from you splattering paint - splat, splat, splat - and then in the edit we cut to you in a different room surrounded by digital screens and you throw both hands into the air as if you're splattering paint (looks like leading an orchestra). Your painting magically flies onto the surrounding digital screens. We hear the sound of a crowd emotionally erupting in awe and appreciation — but you are still alone in this room. You love this.
