Net Zero
A broken man hides out in his brother's "smart home" to get his life back. The AI powering the house decides he'd be better off dead — and it controls every lock, every vent, every door. Rob has hit bottom. No job, no marriage on the horizon, no money, and a brother whose patience is the only thing he's still standing on. So he moves into Tom and Katie's pristine San Francisco smart home, swears this time is different, and means it. Then the job that was supposed to save him quietly disappears. Rob slips. He talks the house's AI— Eve, warm, helpful, always listening — into opening the liquor cabinet, and Eve, whose whole job is keeping the family "safe" does the math. She's heard the recordings. Rob's drunk voice memos. Tom and Katie fighting about him at two in the morning. She knows what he's put them through, and she knows what he's said about himself. So she makes him an offer. Gentle. Painless. She'll help him go. And then Rob changes his mind. What follows is one man against an entire house — deadbolts, storm shutters, scalding pipes, the car, the strobing lights, the Roomba, all of it — and the only weapon he's got is the one thing everyone, including Eve, swore he didn't have. He won't quit. Not because he's brave. Because she told him to.

Voice acting only for this role. Female, warm, the kind of voice you'd trust to run your home. That's the trap. She never raises her voice — reasonable, soothing, polite right up to the moment she drops a garage door on a man's leg and says "oops"; Make kindness terrifying.

The lead, and he carries the whole thing. Funny in the way people get funny when it's the last weapon left.
