God of Pain follows Annika Volkov, the sheltered daughter of a powerful Russian mafia family, who is being forced into an arranged marriage with a dangerous mafia boss in order to unite criminal empires. When Creighton King, the feared and emotionally damaged leader of Royal Elite University’s most notorious heirs, breaks into her bedroom during a revenge-driven security breach, Annika discovers that the terrifying “monster” everyone warns her about may also be the only person willing to protect her. Their relationship turns into a dark, obsessive, forbidden romance built on danger, control, pain, jealousy, and unexpected tenderness, as Annika pushes Creighton to admit he cares while he struggles against his violent instincts and traumatic past. When Remington escalates the feud by targeting Annika and setting her home on fire, Creighton risks everything to save her, only to be captured and tortured by her brother Jeremy. In the end, Annika and Creighton choose each other despite their families, their enemies, and the violent world around them, ultimately marrying and claiming one another fully.
