MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT THAT DOES NOT EXPIRE WITHIN SIX MONTHS AND ABLE TO TRAVEL TO TORONTO, CANADA. We’d like to cast a male voice for this role. They should sound mature and trustworthy, like they’re in their 30s to 40s. The Voiceover is a main character in our spots so it’s crucial their personality comes through even though they will not be seen. This Voiceover is not necessarily a typical announcer-type voice, although they should be able to do a range of tones from formal to casual. Improv experience is a huge plus. The plan is to have the voice talent on set so the dialogue feels natural and to explore the dynamic with the on-screen talent. Our Voiceover is an extension of CarMax, embodying the brand’s core values by ensuring customers never feel pressured, always feel in control, and stay confident throughout the car-selling process. Across the campaign, the VO carries a polished, instructional tone — but his Golden Retriever-level enthusiasm naturally shines through whenever he talks about CarMax’s offers and APU benefits. He genuinely geeks out over how good the experience is for customers. At his core, this VO loves what he does and “rides at dawn” for his customers, bringing both trustworthiness and contagious excitement to every interaction.
