About the Job
KAREN MASON is JOHN’s mother. She has been abusing her body with drugs since she was a teen and while on a drug jaunt in a crackhouse, she became pregnant with JOHN. She got clean briefly when JOHN was born, but went right back to the drug lifestyle, dragging him from crackhouse to crackhouse and sometimes leaving him with strangers until her parents came and took him from her. After her father dies, she makes overtures to establishing a relationship with her only child.
