About the Job
ZULEMA CANTU — Lead 18, Mexican-American. The protagonist. A guarded, fiercely competitive high-school volleyball star carrying the wound of childhood abandonment beneath deadpan wit. Must convey hard-won toughness and buried tenderness. Heavy dramatic and comedic range; carries the film. MUST be able to play volleyball at a competitive level OR be athletic and willing to train intensively prior to and during production. Please note volleyball/athletic experience in your submission. Female · playable 18–29 · Latina/Hispanic (Mexican-American) · Conversational Spanish a plus · Volleyball ability or trainable athlete REQUIRED · LEAD · SAG-AFTRA / Non-Union
