THE BOSS is a supporting comedic role with minimal dialogue. He is the quintessential bad manager — the guy who has been at the company the longest and somehow worked his way into a position he never deserved. He reads instantly as out of touch, clueless, and completely unbothered by the chaos he creates. Think Bill Lumbergh from Office Space. THE BOSS appears in one brief scene. He casually drops an impossible IT installation task on our main character with an impossible deadline, offhandedly admits he forgot to get it started weeks ago, points to a dusty manual on a shelf as his only offered solution, and walks away without a second thought. The comedy lives entirely in the performance — dry, deadpan, and completely unaware. No mugging, no winking at the camera. The funnier he plays it straight, the better. This is a high production value spec commercial shooting on anamorphic lenses with a professional crew. Strong comedic instincts and the ability to find the dry humor in total stillness are essential. Actors who love Christopher Guest, Mike Judge, or early Steve Carell will feel right at home here.
