About the Job
An aspiring writer escaping to a secluded Victorian house for a weekend writing retreat. Creative, emotionally open, funny without trying to be, a little messy, a little chaotic, and deeply stuck in the cycle every artist knows. One moment she’s convinced she’s a fraud, the next she’s convinced she just wrote something brilliant. Looking for someone who feels natural. Strong subtle acting and expressive face work are important since much of the performance is visual with minimal dialogue. The role leans more indie than commercial. Think emotionally grounded with a quirky, cinematic energy. The story follows her creative highs and lows over the course of a weekend as she spirals through inspiration, self doubt, exhaustion, obsession, and breakthrough while using a writing app inside this strange dreamy Victorian house. Scenes include writing montages, emotional vulnerability, physical comedy, surreal moments. Special Notes: - Must be comfortable in a bathtub scene. Scene involves talent in a bathtub photographed from an overhead angle with implied nudity. Talent will need to be topless while submerged in water; however, no nipples or explicit nudity will be visible on camera. - Comfortable improvising and bringing personality to the role is a huge plus.
