At The Bend
At the Bend is a dramatic short film about masculinity, connection, and honesty... Elliot has just proposed to his girlfriend of 6 years, Sophie, and she said yes! But when Sophie asks Elliot if he asked her father, Tod, for her hand in marriage, Elliot admits he didn’t. Following Sophie’s request to pretend they are not yet engaged and ask Tod for her hand in order to “build a bridge” between the two men who have always had a tense relationship and have never truly connected, Elliot has no choice but to spend a day fly fishing with Tod. Amidst the beautiful colors of a Colorado Autumn and the peaceful babel of the river, secrets are revealed, hard truths are spoken aloud, and two men are forced to confront both their own identities and the nature of the relationship they have with one another.
