Shalom Salam: A Recipe For Peace
Stranded in Los Angeles, unable to return home to their families due to airport closures caused by ongoing conflict, they channel their longing, imagination, and heartbreak into building something meaningful. Together, they launch a “smart” hummus startup—an innovative food experience designed to bring their cultures together through both tradition and technology. At the heart of their concept is a bold idea: customers don’t just break bread together—they become part of the solution. Through a custom digital platform, guests can share prayers and messages of hope, which are transmitted to Jerusalem, printed and placed in the Wailing Wall, shared in nearby sacred spaces, and transformed into symbolic acts of peace—such as 3D-printed white doves. What begins as a simple meal evolves into a living, participatory movement for connection.
