About the Job
Cassian Ward is a quiet observer of other people’s wealth and lives. Every night he sits in a dimly lit security room watching dozens of surveillance monitors displaying the interiors of luxury apartments worth tens of millions of dollars. Most of them are empty. Cassian has spent years guarding wealth that no one lives in — glass towers filled with silent rooms, designer furniture untouched, kitchens never used, beds never slept in. Meanwhile, just a few blocks away in Chinatown, families crowd three generations into tiny apartments. Cassian lives between these two worlds. He protects the fantasy of luxury while privately confronting the emptiness inside it.
