About the Job
LEAD. Female, early 40s, open ethnicity Quiet, observant, and deeply internal, Judy lives a small, controlled life shaped by unresolved grief. She struggles with social anxiety and has difficulty forming close relationships, relying instead on routine and solitary habits. Beneath her reserved exterior is a yearning for connection, warmth, and recognition. She is avoiding grief of her mother who was a stained glass artist and Judy's key person in her life. She is in the pet loss support group under the guise of the loss of her mother's cat. Judy is thoughtful and sensitive, but can become overly attached when she feels seen. Her emotional world is rich but often unexpressed, and her attempts at closeness don’t always land the way she intends. She is fascinated by Kate, and eventually uses photography as a way to connect, something she was encouraged to pursue by her mother. (Role slightly inspired by Barbara Covett from Notes on a Scandal, but Judy is more kind, sweet, misunderstood, shy). 10 days of shooting Note: This is a nuanced, performance-driven role requiring subtlety, restraint, and emotional depth.
