Cosmic Drive
General statement Cosmic Drive reinvents the road-movie by opening it toward the cosmic unknown. Rather than embracing the traditional narrative of space as a territory to conquer, the film shifts toward a posture of observing and wonder. Inspired by the SETI Institute—the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence—and Nathalie Cabrol’s quest to understand the origins of life in the universe, it draws on recent breakthroughs in astrophysics to provoke a renewed sense of philosophical awe. It aligns with cinematic lineages such as Tarkovsky’s Solaris, where the cosmos becomes a site of introspection. Rather than portraying space as a frontier to master, Cosmic Drive presents it as a reflective realm—an arena for speculation, memory, and imagining what lies ahead.
