He is a widowed landlord who lives alone, with one son living in another state. He owns two apartments side by side, and rented out one unit to Otto. Although renting is his way of seeking connections, he has multiple serious health issues, making him very Covid conscious and is extremely nervous.

Ava and Otto's neighbour. She is a covid conscious individual and is unhappy that Ava dumped unidentified bags of trash in her bins. She is curt, straight to the point, and overall unsympathetic, but is easily assuaged when Otto tries to diffuse the situation with a gift card.
