Synopsis:

Elizabeth Marie Smth is a young White girl living in the 1950s where McCarthyism is causing injustice across all corners of the United States as she struggles between conformity and doing what's right. This story is about friendship under Communism and making the decision to follow the right path.

Project Notes

"The 48" is a short film shot under 48 hours which is then submitted to a film competition hosted by FilmEd Academy of the Arts. Orange County Teams each have 48 hours (3pm - 3pm) to create and submit a short film for a genre given to each school two weeks prior to the competition with three additional elements provided the day of the event. Because of this, plot lines may be subject to change depending on what the team receives. However, the story attached likely will not face major changes. Please note that this is an entirely unpaid film other than food provided, as our production team only consists of high school students. Also note that actors will likely need to remain on set overnight, with the exception of regular breaks and mealtimes. The many actors who have participated in the 48 in years past have gained set experience of the realistic production behind short films and music videos in the film industry. We appreciate any and all applicants. Thank you!
