The Nurse Says It's Normal
When thirteen-year-old Mandy is caught eating a cat, it sets off the inevitability of puberty. The story is about the complicated changes of the body as she (Mandy) transitions into adulthood. The tension this significant change brings forth, as emotions run wild, and the discomfort in one's own body due to the abrupt new changes of growth. The Werewolf is a significant metaphor as they both link with the moon and the obvious changes they both must go through.
