The Overview Effect
The Overview Effect is an original Broadway style musical following a team of astronauts who trained for, but were not selected to go on, the first human mission to mars. Stationed in Antarctica, the crew left behind grapples with their own disappointments, hopes, and the corporate red tape that stands between them and their dreams. With 26 original songs, the production uses soaring ballads, comedic ensemble numbers, and powerful anthems to explore themes of ambition and hubris using the fragility of life as seen from space. The show delves into power struggles set against the backdrop of exploration to establish the importance of retaining our humanity as we explore and invent.
