Ross Interview about The Whole Weekend: What is the idea behind the Whole Weekend? I want to start with a simple story and expand it to something bigger. I have been in the game for a super long time and in 2026, I am looking to take everything to another level. What inspired this story? I am a huge fan of Adrian Lynne. I knew that I wanted this year to be in part dedicated to him. He created narrative masterpieces such as Indecent Proposal, Unfaithful and the superb Fatal Attraction. Also this year I am determined to FINALLY snag a muse. I've had three fire proof potentials in my life with the last one being top tier superstar ready. I think at the end of the day they just didn't believe the power of an actor and director duo. I am sure they believe the possibilities now. Look at what Ryan did and Michael B did last year with 'Sinners' and what they have done over the course of 14 years. Unbelievable. They are now the awards-season darlings. All because they believed in one another. I think the difference however is Ryan had a meeting with Michael B, an actor who had already been through the system of Hollywood in a big way. Yet he still wasn't famous. I think had Ryan picked someone who had not studied or understood the business and was just a good looking face with talent, there would be no Billion Dollar trail. I think it also helped that Michael wasn't already famous like lets aay Morris Chestnut or Shemar Moore. He was lucky. Ryan found the right one right out of the gate. This connection means a lot to you doesn't it? I think a lot of people who see your productions and read your castings knows that this is a deep wish for you? Even in your opening films in your shows you talk about a muse. It is a deep wish. Even before there was a Coogler and Jordan, I saw the potential in this type of thing. There is an interview in You tube that is labeled 'Ryan Coogler, Michael B Jordan, Cast and Casting Director for 'Sinners' Conversation'. Watch the first 15 minutes at least. You will understand why partnership, connection of muse and a mentor with extreme focus put them in a billion dollar club all of their own. Do you think you will find your Muse in 2026? The feeling that I had with number 3 is something that every creator should feel. Empowered. When I had this potential superstar under my wing, there was nothing in me that said we would not conquer Hollywood. I felt like superman and even Kryptonite couldn't bring me down. I have never been that creative all at once and that is saying a lot cause my whole life has been about creating. When you find an actor and you don't care how much money or time you put into them cause you feel that the return professionally and financial will be far bigger and life changing gthen what you put out, that is huge. Ive auditioned over 300 thousand actors and never had that feeling except that one time. Will I feel it again? I'm hoping. Since October of 2024, I have received over 1000 private messages from actors expressing they are looking for the same thing. I try and talk to every one so I am crossing my fingers..and my heart.
