About the Job
About the Job
A troubled man who wants to redeem himself as a father to his only son after years of inconsistency. Iggy is the instigator of the main conflict. He makes a hasty decision in the face of a moral dilemma to display control, which spirals the group into tragedy. He is ex-military and performs best under pressure. When he's not in high-octane situations, he falls victim to his own obsessive thoughts, which he desperately tries to hide from the world. Feigning control and power gives him an opportunity to feel fulfilled in his role as a protector. However, he's ignorant to the fact that he's stuck in a cycle of protecting others from scenarios of his own making. Ultimately, he struggles to feel in control of himself and his own actions, so he asserts control over others. He has spent many years denying his underlying feelings of inadequacy. A lifetime of intensity has left his nerves frayed, causing him to appear jumpy and wired. Iggy is physically imposing and restless. He moves with confidence but is also hyperactive and impulsive. His energy can shift from controlled to chaotic without warning. He is like a “bull in a china shop.” The actor must be able to portray the nuance of a man who is confidently in control at one moment, then desperately out of control the next.
