Sage is highly social and idiosyncratic in her behavior. She is expressive in her body language, speech patterns, and inflections. She talks with her hands, is especially expressive through her eyes, and wears a wide smile. She is disarming and calming despite her high energy levels. She inspires people to be playful and unencumbered. These qualities lead people to assume she doesn't care what others think of her and that she is completely free, but she is carrying significant unseen emotional weight. She’s so good at taking care of herself and others that she does not realize how tired she’s become from it. This fatigue makes her susceptible to surrendering control to Iggy during the film's climax. Iggy's machismo and insistence on being the group's protector give her a moment to breathe and not feel responsible for everyone's well-being for once. The actress must be able to convey sincere idiosyncratic behavior, as well as the nuances of a woman who is at once independent and free-spirited, but also empathetic and nurturing.
