About the Job
BOB A representative of the average person’s lawn frustrations. Emotionally bubbling over and covered in dirt from his manual, DIY attempts at yard management – Bob’s wheels have almost fallen off. His failed attempts at lawn care has him on the edge of psychosis. Why is lawn care so hard? Think Tom Hanks in the movie The Burbs • Male • 25 – 40 yrs old • Open to all ethnicities • Attainable look – open to interesting features, unique faces. • Physical, comedic performer – capable of body language to convey transformation. • Despite humor, there needs to be a likeability – our audience has to root for this character to succeed. Director’s notes: the most important consideration is the emotional and physical latitude in the role of Bob so we can marry comedy and empathy – we’d like to see a few bracketed takes – conservative reads, to off-the-wall, bonkers reads.
