About the Job

Haj is a bright, enthusiastic young apprentice whose eagerness often outpaces his experience. His upbeat energy and social awkwardness create comedic moments as he tries to prove himself. Haj is Mickey Bones’s new apprentice – earnest, energetic, and just a little overwhelmed by the chaos of OldCastle. He arrives with the confidence of someone who has studied every YouTube tutorial ever made, but with the practical ability of someone who has never actually applied them. He is fast-talking, big-hearted, physically comedic, and always trying to do the right thing, even when he has no idea what the right thing is. Haj gets swept into Mickey’s world almost instantly and becomes a key part of the unfolding mystery beneath the town. His physical comedy is a major part of the role. He sprints, crashes, tumbles, and ricochets through scenes with wide-eyed determination. This character suits an actor with strong comedic instincts, expressive reactions, and the ability to deliver fast banter while staying grounded and real. Haj will reappear throughout the season as Mickey’s unlikely sidekick.
