Character is portrayed as Female, 25 - POLISH. ASTRID is a hot-headed girl who grew up entirely at odds with her parents in a devout, puritanical Catholic community. Though she struggled to put into words exactly what it was, Astrid always knew that something was wrong - something was missing - some part of her could never fit with the ideals she had grown up surrounded by. So this forthright, confident, willful but troubled girl left - she went searching - she travelled the earth - and then, in a small, strange commune out in the middle of nowhere in Australia, she finally found it - that missing piece of her - the bit that had always made her feel wrong. And once found, it was so blindingly obvious that she couldn't believe she'd missed it. She met Amara - and she fell in love. And she finally felt complete. Surf experience a plus.
