Biracial Individuals
Mixed Feelings
About the Job
- Biracial individuals (specifically with one Black and one white parent, but open to others) - Open to being photographed - Comfortable sharing aspects of their identity Mixed Feelings With this photography project, I want to create a space where mixed-race people can simply exist. Without judgment. Without fetishisation. Without the pressure of representation. The intention is not to occupy black identity, nor to cater to the gaze of whiteness. Instead, it is about carving out a quiet, authentic moment for those who are biracial, a love letter to the nuances of our experience without demanding justification or explanation. It can be challenging to create around an identity we are often taught to deny, hide or even feel ashamed of. But precisely because of that, I think this project is necessary now. And I hope it encourages others, regardless of background, to imagine similar spaces of freedom for themselves, where identity is not performed for others, but lived for oneself.
