The Man
Baby Boy
About the Job
late 40s, heavier set, plus size. The Man is the physical embodiment of grief left unresolved for decades. He lost his mother as a child, far too young to understand death, and in many ways, he never grew past that moment. On the outside, he’s an aging man, heavier set, awkward, with a presence that feels off-putting, even unsettling. But inside, he’s still the terrified little boy who just wants his mother back. His grief has turned into something feral, almost animalistic, as if decades of pain have twisted him into someone caught between man and child.
We’re looking for an actor unafraid to explore raw, unfiltered emotion sobbing, collapsing, screaming,
moving in ways that feel at times frightening and at others heartbreakingly vulnerable, almost animalistic.
This role demands emotional fearlessness, physicality, and the ability to portray both menace and deep tragedy in the same breath.
