Lory takes pride in who he has grown up to be, but when his closest friends tell him that it's best he hides his personality for the sake of his relationship, he becomes reserved and soft-spoken. He makes a choice to be himself but that causes him to be irrational. When he has to confide in his mother he feels vulnerable because has never had to ask how to dress before. And when he goes to Jennifer's party he feels anxiety and fear from the unknown territory. He is insecure that he isn't in touch with his Latino roots.
