OUR ABUELA
This isn’t your typical Abuela. She’s confident, elegant, stylish, and always knows what to say (and how to wear her slicked back hair in a perfect bun). We want to break the traditional ‘abuelita’ mold and reimagine her as modern, eclectic, and unapologetically cool. But still as warm as ever.
AGE:
65~75 yrs old
Most importantly, we want to avoid stereotypes and keep it authentic to the Hispanic experience – specifically reflecting a Caribbean Hispanic family, as this more accurately represents the Hispanic population that visits Walt Disney World, rather than leaning into Mexican-American casting.
IF ABUELA ACTOR HAS REAL FAMILY MEMBERS WHO FIT OUR SPECS, WE'RE OPEN TO HAVING HER SLATE AND AUDITION WITH THESE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS (non actors welcome).
