About the Job
This actor in this one-act play will play three (3) roles. Most roles are of either an incarcerated individual or of a detention officer. This character should appear to be in his mid-forties. The first character is POET #2, who recites a piece about how praying has kept him alive in the prison system, the second role is simply the VOICE, of a guard, who is offstage arguing with a prisoner. The third character is RAY RAY, a sympathetic prisoner who works in the hospice wing of the prisoner. He has befriended an elderly man who is dying of cancer and wants his passing to be as painless and as peaceful as possible.
