About the Job
(Approximately 26 years old)
African American. Charismatic, unpredictable. His voice and body never fully at rest.
Bird is both jester and demi-god — his energy spills into the room before he arrives. He’s funny, fast-talking, always “high” and often deadly serious when you least expect it. He plays the saxophone like he’s inventing a new religion (which he actually has!). The actor must deliver jazz in human form — funny, dangerous, visionary, slightly broken. This role demands a deep performer who can make genius feel lived-in and reckless. (Experience playing saxophone is a plus)
