About the Job
Theodore is a white man in his 40s, outwardly polished and professional, who moves through Amelia’s life with a complex, unsettling duality. In public, he wears the image of a respectable, well-dressed man—suit, tie, and an air of confidence—but behind closed doors, his role in Amelia’s life is transactional, intimate, and morally compromised.
A lawyer by trade, Theodore is supposed to be working to locate Amelia’s detained husband, yet his efforts are sporadic and self-serving. He maintains a veneer of helpfulness while consistently reminding Amelia—both subtly and explicitly—that their arrangement is a “quid-pro-quo.” His physical relationship with her is laced with an imbalance of power.
