Casting Networks Unwrapped: New Features That Paved the Way for Casting Excellence in 2024
With the holidays here and 2025 just around the corner, it’s time to reflect on all the joy and positivity that came your way in 2024.
For starters, the casting community learned it will finally receive its well-deserved Academy Award category in 2026. Many of casting’s brightest were also honored at several award shows across the globe, including the 39th annual Artios Awards, the CDG Casting Awards, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards and Australia’s CGA Awards.
We know how exciting the coming awards season is with the 40th annual Artios Awards ahead, and we’re looking forward to the imminent eligibility and voting rules for casting’s Oscar category.
But before we go from one season to the next, we thought we’d highlight the features that we introduced this year on our platform that made the biggest impact on casting.
These are the top new features added to Casting Networks that make life easier for casting directors and their teams.
See All Roles on Your Projects
If you’re in the middle of a project and want to double-check which roles you have already added, this feature is your friend. All you need to do is click “Show Existing Roles” to make them appear (when you’re done, you can click “Hide Existing Roles” to bring them back up).
Get Alerted to Multiple Submissions
When reviewing submissions for a project, this feature lets you know when a talent has either submitted to or been selected for other roles. When selecting a talent with multiple selections, a modal will appear asking you to review them.

See More Detailed Media Request Summaries
Need to know how many talent are in each status? The Media Request Summary page is a quick way for casting to check. This page shows you information about the requests before you click on them, making it easier to view specific information in a request.
Save Media Requests as a Draft
After adding a title to your Media or Question Request, you can now save that request as a Draft.
Whether you’re awaiting more information or other projects are taking priority over your current workload, this helpful feature will ease your workflow and keep your requests stored until you’re ready to send them.

Label Audition Types for Talent and Reps
You can now label the audition types for your projects! This way, you can let representatives and talent know if the project will require In-Person, Self Tape/Virtual Auditions or Both. Not sure? We’ve got that covered, too!

Collaborate with Your Extended Team
Stay in control of your project’s confidentiality while inviting the necessary extra parties involved in helping you achieve your goals. With the Collaborators feature, casting directors can now loop in freelancers, cam-ops and session runners without granting them full access to your company’s Casting Networks account (you can add and remove users from specific projects directly from your account, too).

Find Sessions Faster with Search
Trying to find a specific session for your task? We’ve put in a search bar to help!
This new addition to the Sessions tab allows Casting Directors to search for the names of specific sessions created within a project.
Sort Your Sessions
You can now sort your sessions and session pages by Newest to Oldest or Oldest to Newest. This simple sorting feature can be accessed by clicking “Created On.”
View Session Details
When viewing sessions, casting directors will see a drop-down option under View Session Details so that they can navigate to other sessions they would like to check.
Rearrange Photo Order in Sessions
Casting can now rearrange the order of photos in Sessions. When viewing a session, click “Group Details” and go to “Photo”. From this tab, you can drag and drop the photos and easily rearrange them in any order you like.
Enhance Presentation Reports with Picks and Comments
Users can now select With Picks, With Comments, or Both in Presentation Reports. Casting now can choose to add picks and comments to their reports, making it easier for the recipient you are sharing it with to understand your visions for your projects.
